Paul Gregory started playing guitar at the age of 10, later studying with

Baltazar Benitez in Holland and Carlos Bonell. He gave his Wigmore Hall

debut at 19 to high critical acclaim and three years later he won the Andres

Segovia International Competition in Spain. Paul has been invited as a

soloist to most parts of the world, including the Americas and Hong-Kong.

Over the years, he has broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3 and has recorded

for the Opus 1, Meridian and Claudio record labels. He has been a member

of the Lontano Ensemble specialising in contemporary music and plays in

duo with pianist Yoko Ono.

Simon Taylor is from Dublin and also started the guitar at the age of 10 with

Dr. Joseph Groocock. He later studied in London and participated in many

masterclasses with leading international artists. He has performed

extensively throughout Ireland and in the UK, Spain, France, Iceland and the

USA, broadcast on RTE radio and television and has recorded discs of Irish,

Spanish and South American music. In his subsequent career in music

management Simon Taylor was Head of Orchestras at RTE; Senior Producer,

Classical Music for BBC Northern Ireland; Chief Executive of Bournemouth

Symphony Orchestra in England and, most recently, Chief Executive of the

National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Paul and Simon’s concert tour in Ireland and the UK in April/May marks over

four decades of friendship and their joint 70th birthday (almost to the day)

in January 2026
