The name Far Flung Trio reflects the sense of fun and the eclecticism in their programming and performances. They are all leading Irish players and are drawn to this Trio by the sheer joy generated by playing together. This evident rapport is one of the elements that particularly delights audiences. They have been warmly received at festivals and in concert series all over the country, delighting audiences with a mix of virtuosity and playfulness, tradition and innovation. A dizzying array of styles characterises They perform music by Bach, Biber, Gershwin, Kreisler, Liszt, Offenbach, Edith Piaf, Piazzolla, Prokofiev, also Klezmer and other folk music — and lots of surprises. The Irish Examiner has written about them:  “The trio’s enthusiasm and sense of enjoyment in what they were doing simply oozed from the stage and the audience loved it”. In January 2020 The Trio released their debut album LIVE AT THE LARGE ROOM.

Joining the Far Flung Trio in this pre-Christmas soirée style evening of eclectic music are Kilkenny based guitarist Michael O'Toole, the great Waterford uilleann piper David Power, the Finnish/Irish violinist Marja Gaynor and guitarist John Walsh.
